btw how about you did some of your friend wanna do a program for they separation ?
i'm sure you won't be separated for that amount of time. you'll see it each other sooner or later in life. as the famous expression goes: 'it is a small world', and a small world it is indeed.
i hope best wishes for you and your friend. it is not goodbye forever, although i know this is a cliche.
anyway, we don't call them separation programs, we call them 'farewell' parties. we celebrate for their time spent with us and the time that they're going to be without us.
it's a sad occasion, but nevertheless, a reflective and cheerful time.
i believe your drawing is as perfect as it can be. your deductions and links to the world are based upon human's perspectives and desires. maybe you're being too cynical. anyway, back to your picture. it's perfect because it's what you drew. it's not the visualization or technique that make's one artwork perfect. it's what the medium is presenting; purpose and emotions.
the feathers in the shield can represent many things - but i'm thinking, since it's 'separation' - a bond or friendship. the contrast of black and white indicates the dark and cheery times you went or are going through. crossed feathers could also mean the bond between you and your friend and the future of the possibility of crossing paths. feathers can mean anything - but my belief is that forever, you two will be soft towards each other. i'm thinking more of a literal why but maybe yours can be more creative or meaningful.
